More UGC fun

The thing I love about the headlong rush into UGC projects is the sheer interestingness of what we’re being asked to do.

Come New Year, I’m going to be putting together training workshops for a new client  (in the mobile handset space, and big in it) who are looking to train up 200 people around the world to become UGC reporters, looking for evidence of brand values being made concrete in the workplace and beyond.

They’ve got all the cameraphone knowledge, we’ve been asked to help these people understand how to make compelling visual stories.

How cool is that?

And that’s not all. This client is having all the right ideas – social spaces for audience to discuss videos, social spaces for reporters to discuss the process, a monthly video roundup like the BBC’s Oddbox, even a fully-fledged film festival to celebrate the achievement a few months down the line.

What a great way to not just harness UGC buzz, but to create a culture of it, from scratch. Proud to be a part of it. Watch this space – will blog progress.
